  • PCD has a hardness of 8000 HV, which is 80-120 times that of cemented carbide.
  • The thermal conductivity of PCD is 7000W/mk, which is 1.5-9 times that of cemented carbide, even higher than PCBN and copper.
  • The PCD friction coefficient is only 0.1-0.3 (the cemented carbide is 0.4-1), and the PCD cutter reduces the cutting force significantly.
  • The thermal expansion coefficient of PCD is 0.9*10-6-1.18*10-6, which is equivalent to one-fifth of that of cemented carbide. Therefore, PCD cutter has small thermal expansion coefficient and high precision.
  • The affinity between PCD and non-ferrous metals and non-metallic materials is very small, and it is not easy to bond on the tip of the blade, and it is not easy to form built-up edge.
